New Electric Vehicle (EV) Subsidy Scheme is out as PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) Scheme. A budget of Rs. 10,900 Crore in two years will be outlawed under the scheme. Subsidy of Rs. 10,000 to each electric 2-wheeler and Rs 50,000 for electric 3-wheelers sold till March 2025. From April 2025, the electric 3-wheeler subsidy will be reduced to Rs. 25,000. The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) will run the PM E Drive Scheme Portal 2024.

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji approved the “PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) Scheme” proposed by the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) for the promotion of electric mobility in the country. The PM E Drive Scheme significant move for greener healthcare solutions and increase electric vehicle mobility in India. Under the E Drive Scheme, MHI is providing e-vouchers for EV buyers to avail of demand incentives.

Prime Minister eDrive Scheme replaces FAME India. And for that government invests 10,900 Crore. With objective to boost EV adoption, install 88,500 charging stations, and reduce pollution and petrol use. For registration process, applicant should above 18 years and have Indian citizenship. Also have Aadhar Card, a valid Email ID, Mobile Number, Pan Card, Passport size Photo, Electricity Bill, Address Proof.

• Subsidies/Demand incentives worth Rs. 3,679 crore are provided to incentivize e-2Ws, e-3Ws, e-ambulances, e-trucks and other emerging EVs.
• The scheme will support 24.79 lakh e-2Ws, 3.16 lakh e-3Ws, and 14,028 e-buses.
• MHI is introducing e-vouchers for EV buyers to avail of demand incentives under the scheme.
• Provide extra incentives for purchasing an e-truck after scrapping the old truck.
• Also Promotes Electric Vehicle Public Charging Stations (EVPCS) Installation.

On 12th September 2024, the Union Minister for Heavy Industries & Steel, Shri H. D. Kumaraswamy announces the “PM-eBus Sewa-Payment Security Mechanism (PSM) Scheme” and “PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) Scheme”. PM E Drive Scheme Subsidy Amount 2024

The PM Electric Drive Revolution in Innovative Vehicle Enhancement (PM E-DRIVE) Offers Subsidy help to all Electric Vehicle Buyers. As per reports in the PM E Drive Scheme PDF, Rs. 10,000 for each electric 2-wheeler buyer will be provided as an e-voucher subsidy and Rs. 50000 for electric 3-wheeler buyer. This subsidy is availed till March 2025 and after that subsidy amount will be half from April 2025 onwards. However, the PM E Drive Scheme Subsidy Amount on E 2-wheelers, E 3-wheelers, E buses, E  Ambulances, E-Trucks, etc. will be disclosed on the Official Portal.

• Get e-vouchers at the time of purchase of the EV.
• The PM E Drive Scheme Portal generates an Aadhaar authenticated e-Voucher for the buyer.
• Now link to download the e-voucher shall be sent to the registered mobile number of the buyer.
• This e-voucher is signed by the buyer and submitted to the dealer to avail of demand incentives.
• Now the e-Voucher is also signed by the dealer and uploaded on the PM E-DRIVE portal.
• The signed e-voucher is sent to the buyer and dealer through an SMS.
• Now Claim your PM E Drive Scheme Subsidy Benefits.

Note – Atlast, the signed e-voucher is essential for OEM to claim reimbursement of demand incentives under the scheme.

Electric Vehicle Public Charging Stations (EVPCS) Installation

By Increasing the Range of electric vehicle mobility in India, the next challenge is Electric Vehicle Public Charging Stations (EVPCS). For that, the Union Minister for Heavy Industries & Steel, Shri H. D. Kumaraswamy has proposed that the installation of 22,100 fast chargers for e-4 Ws, 1800 fast chargers for e-buses and 48,400 fast chargers for e-2W/3Ws. Not only this, but For Electric Vehicle Public Charging Stations (EVPCS) Installation Rs 2,000 crore is outlay by the government.
